Elementary track team goes the distance

Mrs. Freeling’s second grade class cooked soup to exercise their knowledge of mathematical congruent shapes and lines of symmetry.

This was the first year Simsboro has had an elementary track team. The team was made up of 53 students in grades first through sixth.

They participated in five track meets and did an outstanding job. At RJHS on Sept. 18, first-grader Breana Henley received a medal for 10th place.

At Cedar Creek on Oct. 9, the third- and fourth-grade girls’ team placed second. On Oct. 14, at Cedar Creek, Madison Jones and Sophia Green placed in the top 10 in the third and fourth grade age divisions.
