Call to Order
Mrs. Bromell called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Invocation
Mr. Bush presented the invocation.
Review of Mission Statement
Mrs. Bromell presented the mission statement.
Approval of Agenda
Action Item #1: Mr. Russell made a motion to approve the agenda. Mr. Garriga seconded.
Approval of Minutes
Action Item #2: Mr. Hogan made a motion to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Mr. Brasuell seconded. All present said aye. Motion passed unanimously.
Public Comments-None
President/CEO’s Report
Mr. Edmiston gave his reported that the lodging tax is up 2.6 percent over last year percent. However, we are still down compared to the 2008 figures. The Squire Creek Golf Invitational was held earlier in the month. The tournament included 13 teams from around the south. The event generated a lot of overnight stays for Lincoln Parish. The tournament was won by the Louisiana Tech Golf team. Mr. Edmiston also announced that the CVB would co-host the family reunion planning workshop with the Library Events Center on Nov 16.
Action Item #3: Mr. Strebeck made a motion to approve the President/CEO report. Mr. Brasuell seconded. All present said aye. Motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report
Mr. Strebeck presented the financials. Revenue for the month of September was $40,885 for the month, with expenses of almost $64,579. He echoed Mr. Edmiston statement that the lodging tax is slightly up.
Action Item #4: Mr. Garriga made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report. Mr. Dyson seconded. All present said aye. Motion passed unanimously.
Chairman’s Report
Mrs. Bromell thanked Mr. Edmiston and Mr. Bush for their hard work on behalf of the CVB.
Action Item #5: Mr. Strebeck made a motion to approve the Chairman’s report. Mr. Hogan seconded. All present said aye. Motion passed unanimously.
Action Item #6: Mr. Strebeck made a motion to adjourn. Dr. Eke seconded. All present said aye. Motion passed unanimously.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 a.m.
Mission Statement: To create, preserve and enhance overnight stays and quality visitor experiences through the promotion and development of the tourism economy of Lincoln Parish.
