Barbie or Star Wars action figures. What should we play today? Between my little sister and me, we had about 30 Barbie dolls, six Cabbage Patch Kids and countless Care Bears in our messy playroom. Sometimes when we pulled out the Star Wars, G.I. Joe or He-Man action figures, my brother would join the make-believe games. Of course, whereas my sister and I made up games where the dolls went on dates, got married and had friendship troubles, my older brother’s adventure-themed games often involved violent interactions among the toy figures. Hence, it was probably good he wasn’t an everyday participant in our games, although sometimes he came up with fascinating plots.
