Holiday parades roll through Grambling, Ruston

Leader photos by T. SCOTT BOATRIGHT The float developed and sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was named best of Friday’s Ruston Jaycees Christmas Parade.

The holiday spirit flowed freely through Lincoln Parish as the Ruston Jaycees Christmas Parade and the Grambling’s Joy Fund Christmas Parade both rolled.

Rain that was in the forecast held off until after Grambling’s parade wrapped up Saturday at the Grambling Community Center, where bags of fruit and candy were passed out to hundreds of those in attendance.

“It was a great day and great parade,” Grambling Mayor-elect Edward Jones said. “I didn’t see anyone who didn’t have a good time and I think it put a real start on the Christmas season here in Grambling.”
