YEAS: Wyatt, Hunter, Bennett, Franklin, Hammons and Glover
First on the agenda was a discussion of long range planning for Solid Waste. Mr. Hammons discussed modifying the mega sites to manned compactor stations utilizing roll-off containers that can be hauled directly to the designated landfill. He also would like to see recycling incorporated into this plan.
Status of the current woodwaste contract was next on the agenda. Woodwaste is accumulating at the landfill because the authorized Contractor is having equipment problems. The Committee recommended that the Administrator contact Suregreen Mulch and set up a meeting to discuss contract issues.
Next on the Agenda was a review of the contract terms for the Solid Waste Hauling and Transfer Station Operation as well as Landfill Tipping Fees.
Under Recycling update, Parish Administrator Courtney Hall, informed the Committee that the Police Jury would be working with the City of Ruston to hold a Parish-wide paper recycling day on December 11, 2010.
