LPFD Chief Ford: Fire prevention is working

The Lincoln Parish Fire District No. 1 has released their annual report for 2010, and for the most part Parish Fire Chief Dennis Ford said things were looking better.

Of the fires the parish responded to, the structure total loss percentage dropped drastically from nearly 27 percent to 4 percent.

“Look at our loss ratio,” Ford said. “Since we opened the station in Simsboro, we’ve been able to get there quicker and that’s a plus. That’s one thing that I was preaching was if we get people around the clock we can save more in the structure fires.”
