The search for a new Ruston High School principal begins, as Lincoln Parish School Board members voted to begin advertising for the position today during their Tuesday night regular meeting.
Mike Milstead, the current RHS principal, will move up to the central office on July 1 to serve as the chief academic officer, requiring that his school leadership position be filled in time for the beginning of the 2013-14 school year.
A former Village of Simsboro employee reportedly used “unauthorized credits to utility billings” to cover the alleged theft of around $12,000 from the village’s utility collections, according to an audit report released today by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office.
The unnamed employee was terminated and information turned over to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office for further investigation, the report said. LPSO spokesman Major Chad Alexander said this morning the investigation into the incident that happened during 2014 is ongoing.
The journey for 18 entrepreneurial groups of Louisiana Tech University students began Tuesday with pitching their creative and innovative product and service ideas at the TOP DAWG Idea Pitch competition.
Director of Tech’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Information Technology Debbie Inman said students from a variety of majors made their presentations.
“This was the beginning stages to the finals or New Venture Championship competition,” she said. “This also helped them pair with mentors from several business owners and community members.”
