Hinton, Allen exchange vows

Claire Allison Hinton and Klayton Crawford Allen, both of Ruston, were married at 6 p.m. Feb. 26 in the chapel of Temple Baptist Church.

The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Dale Oden.

Claire is the daughter of Clark and Betty Hinton, of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Daniel E. Albritton, of Shreveport, the late Julia Albritton, and the late Jackson C. and Nell C. Hinton.
Klayton is the son of D.J. and Sandy Allen, of Ruston. He is the grandson of Bonnie Lee Peel, of Ruston, the late Charles H. Allen Sr., Clay Crawford, of Calhoun, and the late Richard E. Crawford.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Casablanca bridal gown with an A-line skirt and an empire waistline, which was wrapped in ivory Luxe satin. The dress featured a scalloped semi-chapel train. The beaded ivory Chantilly lace overlaid a champagne colored satin lining. The dress had a strapless neckline with elaborate hand-embroidered designs and crystals on the bodice. She carried a cascading bridal bouquet from Nora’s Flowers. It was made up of ivory roses, light pink floribunda roses, seeded eucalyptus, sweet unique garden roses, primadonna alstroemeria and green hypericum berries. It was hand-tied with a French silk ribbon and overlaid with brocade ribbon with iridescent beading.

Serving as the bride’s honor attendant was the bride’s brother, John Lawson Hinton, of Ruston. The groom’s honor attendant was the father of the groom, D.J. Allen, of Ruston. Ushers were the groom’s brothers, J. Kyle Allen, of Choudrant, D. Kramer Allen, of Ruston, and the bride’s brothers, which include Hugh C. Hinton Jr., of West Monroe, and Jackson D. Hinton, of Vicksburg, Miss.
Music was provided by Shayla Blake and Scott Pumphrey, both of Ruston, who played piano and flute duets.

The reception was held at the Lincoln Parish Library Events Center immediately following the ceremony with Windstorm providing musical entertainment. Event planners were Tanya Paul and Ginger Babcock, both of Ruston, and L & L Catering provided the catering. Wedding and groom’s cakes were designed by Kacee’s Sugar and Spice.

The following showers were held in honor of the couple:

• A tool shower was held Jan. 22 at the cabin at Toma Lodge. It was hosted by Marty and Cary Alsup, Deborah and Wes Lynch, Kelly and Billy Smith and Pam and Mike Walpole.

• A tea shower was held Feb. 5 at the Fellowship Hall of Temple Baptist Church. It was hosted by Faith Alexander, Kathy Barr, Lisa Barr, Brenda Brister, Denise Cox, Ellen Davis, Diana Grigsby, Tommy Dean Hearne, Liz Hood, Lou McWhorter, Cindy Murphy, Sherri Pearce, Edna Smith and Mariam Stone.

After a honeymoon to New York City, the couple will reside in Choudrant.
