GRAMBLING — The Grambling City Council passed a motion Thursday to have city attorney James Colvin move forward with a lawsuit against website developer Sheree Rabon.
During an Aug. 5 council meeting, Grambling’s aldermen expressed concern over Mayor Martha Andrus signing a check for $7,760 to pay for a website although work on the website has not been completed. The council also expressed they felt Andrus, by authorizing the payment, had entered into a contract without their knowledge or approval.
Assistant city attorney Pamela Breedlove during that Aug. 5 meeting said, with Andrus and Rabon listening, that writing a check for unearned work, or cashing such a check, would be a violation of Louisiana’s state Constitution.
