The addition of a 50-bed dormitory would give the Lincoln Parish Detention Center needed bed space and save money over the long run, detention center Warden Jim Tuten said Thursday. The proposed dorm is on the detention center’s capital projects wish list for the coming year. But how soon the work might start and exactly what it would cost are unknown, Tuten told the detention center commission. “We’re at the very preliminary stages of it,” he said.
