Four transformer boxes in downtown Ruston have been, well, transformed into “mini-murals” this summer through a Ruston Cultural District project. After an application process in the spring, four artists were chosen to bring some life and color to these ordinary pieces of city infrastructure: Chlese Henderson, Maryam El-Awadi, Whitney Caskey and Callan Thornton. Two are on Alabama Avenue, and two are on Mississippi Avenue.

A ribbon cutting and grand opening was held on June 7 at the new location for Kim Dupree State Farm Insurance at 1001 N. Trenton St. in Ruston.
