Railroad crossings traffic closures

The city of Ruston announces, weather permitting, the following railroad and grade crossings closures. These impacted streets will be closed to through traffic:

May 4

Santiam Road (US 80 East to McDonald Ave.)

Bernard Street (E. Mississippi Ave, to McDonald Ave.)

May 5

Monroe Street (W. Park Ave. to W. Railroad Ave.)

Maple Street (W. Alabama Ave. to W. Barnett Springs Ave.)

May 6

Homer Street (W. Mississippi Ave. to W. Louisiana Ave.)

May 8

Vienna Street or US 167 (Park Ave. to Railroad Ave.)

May 9

Trenton Street or US 167 (W. Park Ave to W. Railroad Ave.)

The dates for closures are proposed and therefore, subject to change and necessary to allow the railroad’s contractor to make improvements to the crossings. The city encourages the public to plan alternate routes. Official notification of the Vienna Street and Trenton Street closure will be provided by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
