Voter registration events planned

The Lincoln Parish Registrar of Voters Office kicks off a week of outreach events Monday, allowing people to register to vote at various community locations.

“This is an opportunity for eligible citizens to register to vote, update or make changes to their current registration, or enroll in the Senior Absentee Mail Ballot Program,” Registrar of Voters Sharon Parnell said.

The community sign-ups are being held in conjunction with National Voter Registration Week.

Here’s the week’s schedule: Monday: 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Parish Health Unit, 405 East Georgia Ave., Ruston; 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., second floor of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury Complex, 307 North Homer Street, also in Ruston.

Tuesday: 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., Choudrant Mini Mart, 3741 Elm Street in Choudrant; 10 a.m. – noon, Northern Louisiana Medical Center Senior Circle, 401 East Vaughn Ave., Ruston.

Wednesday: 9 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Louisiana Delta Community College, 1010 James Street, Ruston; 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Grambling State University cafeteria on the GSU campus.

Thursday: 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Dubach Council on Aging, 177 Main Street, Dubach; 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Green Clinic, 1200 South Farmerville Street, Ruston.

Friday – 10 a.m. – noon, Rollings Hills Thrift Store, 3487 Hwy. 33, Ruston.

Registrants should bring a photo ID, such as a valid Louisiana driver’s license, and proof of address. For more information, call the registrar’s office at 251-5110 or email lincolnrov@sos.la.gov.
