“Finn” the Chihuahua gets a kick out of the support he’s received from 4PAWS, Lincoln Parish dog lovers and Louisiana Tech soccer coach Kevin Sherry and his wife Isabel.
That’s because they’ve all combined to help change the dog’s life for the better.
A sweet natured dog brought to the 4 Paws rescue shelter two weeks ago with two broken legs after probably being hit by a vehicle has had surgery to repair his injuries and received a new home in the process.

School times changing

Before students head back to school, parents need to double check and make sure they know what time classes begin, because it likely isn’t the same time as last year.
After changing the times for school for the 2012-13 school year, the Lincoln Parish School System has decided that it is in the children’s best interest to flip them back to pre-change times for the 2013-14 school year.

Miles celebrating 34th year of gospel television show

Earnie Miles, host of KNOE TV’s “The Earnie Miles Show,” has worked over the years as a schoolteacher, reporter and photographer filming games for Grambling State University.
He said he’s overcome many hurdles over his professional career, but those challenges never hindered his determination and success as his show is entering its 34th year.

Support your child’s academic effort

Last week, Gov. Bobby Jindal and State Superintendent of Education John White wanted to highlight something the rest of us have known for quite awhile. Something special is going on at Ruston High School, and things just keep on getting better.
The two state leaders, and a large crowd of students, faculty and community members, recognized the fact that RHS is one of the top schools in the state because more than 50 percent of students who took an Advanced Placement test scored a passing mark.
