Sue Kyle

Sue Kyle died July 30, 2013 at her home in Arcadia, Louisiana following a lengthy illness. She was born January 19, 1929 in Kennard, Texas to Jonas Reuben Westbrook and Bessie English Westbrook. She married Herschel Kyle on December 24, 1947 in Rusk, Texas. She was a social worker at Rusk State Hospital until moving with her family to Arcadia, LA in 1980.

Operation Summer Heat continues

Six more arrested in LPNET months-long drug crackdown

Six more individuals have been arrested as part of the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team’s Operation Summer Heat campaign.
LPNET officers made four initial arrests late last week as a result of months of ongoing investigation, and more arrests will continue to be made throughout the coming months.
Over the past several days, several more names were added to the list.

GRAMBLING — In difficult times when money is tight, there are fewer jobs, more duties for those employed and significant structural changes, customer service is key.
Chicago-based consultant, trainer and “master communicator” Lisa Laude’ told a group of Grambling State University administrators, faculty and staff that they, individually, will determine the university’s reputation every time they come in contact with someone, must realize they are “on stage” every time someone calls or walks in and that they shape the environment in which they work.

Final ‘Family Day in the Park’ set for Saturday

Saturday will bring the final installment of the Joy Tellis Cooper Foundation’s Family Day in the Park.
Cooper, who is a former Ruston resident, has been presenting the event, which hands out free school supplies to local children, for the past 10 years. And, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, residents will gather at the Greenwood Recreational Center — known as the Blue Building — for a time of celebration.
