Library brief: LPL travels to the fabulous fifties

The Fabulous Fifties were a great era for poodle skirts, early rock-n-roll, and, of course, classic cars.
Re-live the Fabulous 50’s as residents ‘Rock Around The Clock’ on Oct. 5 at the Lincoln Parish Library with a full slate of activities for the whole family.
The day will begin with a Rollin’ Oldies Car Show held at 10 a.m. in the Library Event Center parking lot. The public is invited to come out and view the classic cars and vote for their favorite. The car show will run until 2 p.m. with awards being presented at 1:45 p.m.

With the increase of technology use, children in our area have developed inactive and sedentary lifestyles.

If we don’t solve this problem, one third of all children born in 2000 or later will suffer from diabetes at some point in their lives.

Growing up in California, the two brothers were always on the football field together, literally — pee wee, junior high, high school and Riverside Community College the year prior and now at Tech.
