On Sept. 12 Northern Louisiana Medical Center will once again present “Bulldogs Tackling Breast Cancer,” its annual partnership with Tech athletics to support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

Williams named as LPNET commander

Many people in Lincoln Parish likely recognize the name Stephen Williams.
Whether it’s from the countless times he’s been in the news as the former spokesperson for the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, or just from all the places one might see him around town, Williams is an active member of the community.
Williams was born and raised in Choudrant, and has lived in Lincoln Parish his entire life.
“I knew early on that I wanted to work in law enforcement,” Williams said.
“I applied with the sheriff’s office and was hired in 1993.”

Distinguished Tech alumna to serve as keynote for summer graduation

Zazell Dudley, the first African American female to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Louisiana Tech University, will return to her alma mater Thursday to serve as the keynote speaker for summer commencement exercises.
Graduation will begin at 2 p.m. in the Thomas Assembly Center.

Tech student, faculty-led groups place at research competition

Two Louisiana Tech University student and faculty-led groups recently received recognition for outstanding research during an annual research symposium held in Baton Rouge by the Louisiana Board of Regents.
The symposium officially marked the end of the 2013 “Research Experiences for Undergraduates” and “Research Experiences for Teachers” statewide summer programs offered by the Louisiana Alliance for Simulation-Guided Materials Applications (LA-SiGMA).

Bulldogs add veteran WR to roster

Louisiana Tech head football coach Skip Holtz announced the addition of wide receiver Sterling Griffin to the team Monday. Griffin joins the Louisiana Tech Family after graduating from the University of South Florida.
A Miami, Fla. native, Griffin played in 23 games and started in 19 during his career at USF. He caught 59 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns but was plagued by injuries that limited his game action in 2010 and in 2012.
