Time and time again

in
Brewton, Cathy.jpg

My husband, Michael, sometimes playfully says that I run on “Cathy Time” in which he thinks I am not fully aware of the clock, of time ticking away. Oftentimes I have to rush in order to be early and on time — on the other hand — I am simply late. It is true that parts of the day feel more rushed than others. So in prayer and self-reflection, I asked God to help me see what causes the lateness. I began to pay closer attention to my routine and the flow of my daily activities. And I even asked Michael what he sees in me that makes me late.

Extended families can work, right?

Irby, Marna.jpg

I have some biggies coming up — so glad to be well, so I don’t have to miss anything.

That is not old, as churches go, but I doubt there is another church where the entire church family is more excited about its growth and all that is going on. It comes as close as I can imagine to being a church after God’s own heart.

Davis considered historian of Louisiana Tech athletics

in
Davis, Buddy heashot.jpg

Editor’s note: This is the fifth in a series of five features on the Class of 2013 that will be inducted into the Louisiana Tech Athletics Hall of Fame at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Waggonner Room of the Thomas Assembly Center. The public is invited.
O.K. “Buddy” Davis never donned a Louisiana Tech uniform.
He never scored a touchdown, made a tackle, swung a bat or pulled down a rebound.
Nor did he sprint out of the blocks, spike a ball, drive one down the fairway, serve up an ace or head a ball into a goal.
