Gala a success for GUNAA

A former hero of the Super Bowl and scholarship recipients were the highlights for another successful fund-raising event held by the Grambling University National Alumni Association last weekend.

Ivan “Rod” Wilson, Jr., has roadrunner-like speed on the base paths and those sprint skills will come in handy during the next several days.
The former Ruston High School outfielder and other players chosen by the New York Mets in last week’s Major League Baseball draft will be quickly getting oriented to the life of a professional player throughout this week.
It will be one appointment after another for Wilson and his fellow Mets’ draftees, starting with an extra busy agenda on Wednesday.

Hotard, Steven.jpg

Now that warm season turf grasses are growing faster than most want, it is important to maintain these lawns correctly. Proper lawn maintenance in the summer months minimizes many problems encountered during the growing season and the winter months. Fertilizing, irrigating, mowing correctly, weed control and site maintenance all play a critical role in making the lawn area an asset to the landscape.
