Bulldogs dressed up for season

The world’s largest seller of sporting goods equipment famous for that “swoosh” logo is now hooked up with the Western Athletic Conference program after new head coach Derek Dooley negotiated a contract with the Beaverton, Ore.-based company.
“It went on for about three or four months and I was pretty persistent about it,” said Dooley. “They’re a great company and I thought it was the way we needed to go to make sure our team is outfitted in the best way.”

Spend a night out and grow

As Lincoln Parish Sheriff Mike Stone put it, the effort either strengthens or begins a bond between law enforcement and communities that will help in sharing information vital to the fight against crime.
It’s also plain common sense — if you get to know your neighbors, who so many of us tend to just be cordial with and then ignore, you build communities.

Planet, hospitality in orbit

Moore, a graduating senior at Tech, proudly displayed the painting “Misty Hospitality,” at Art Melt. When Daniel looks at this creation named after a fictional story he wrote, he envisions the mass of colors to be what a character in his story embodying the spirit of a deceased man sees. A couple of his friends, however, have a different perspective.
“Some say they see bunny rabbits in the painting,” the 29-year-old artist commented.
Well, art remains subjective.

Grambling decides to halt GSU project

The head of Louisiana Facilities Planning, Jerry Jones, the University of Louisiana System, and the Attorney General’s office have said that no fees are owed on the project. Grambling continues to pursue the issue despite those opinions.
The call for the meeting itself is in question, as the town failed to submit notice in advance to the Ruston Daily Leader. The Daily Leader has requested notification of upcoming meetings, and according to Louisiana statues, the required notice of the special meeting should have been sent to media. It was not.
