Graveside services will be held for Sarah Robison Crozier on Friday, January 7, 2011, at 11:00 am in Ruston, LA at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. R.B. Moore officiating.  The family will have visitation on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Sarah was born July 16, 1916 in Ruston, LA to Alva E. and Annie Mae Southern Robison and she passed away January 1, 2011, in Destin FL. She was a graduate of Ruston High School and LA Tech University in 1937. After graduating from LA Tech, Sarah taught 3rd grade at Hodge Elementary School.

Back to the future

Harris Hotel something old to look new again

At one time it was the hub of Ruston.
Eventually, Dean Norton hopes the downtown area will be that way again.
The Harris Hotel was a Ruston landmark for years, situated downtown on Park Avenue across from the Kansas City Southern Railway tracks. In more recent years it housed Stow’s Bar before the building was closed due to deteriorating conditions.
Norton bought the building with plans to renovate it, and was helped in October when the project received a $10,000 Louisiana Main Street Redevelopment Grant to help with the restorations.
