Marvin B. Gay

Funeral services for Mr. Marvin B. Gay, age 72 of Ruston, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2011 at Cook Baptist Church in Ruston.  Dr. Mike Holloway will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Gay was born May 23, 1938 in Ruston to Cleo Bryan Gay and Evie Hanna Gay.  He died at his home in Ruston April 13, 2011 after a lenthy illness.  He was a member of Cook Baptist Church.  Mr.

Fate Vernon “Boots” Bennett

After a brief illness, Mr. Fate Vernon “Boots” Bennett passed away April 13, 2011 at the age of 93.  He was a lifetime resident of Union Parish and an employee of Union Parish Police Jury until his retirement.  He was also a WWII veteran. Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by wife, Lillian Cecil Bennett; parents, Walter Scott & Willie Sue Grafton Bennett; brothers, Grafton, J. D., Joe, Sonny James, Bobby and Billy Bennett; sisters, Annie Lindsey and May Belle Webb and great grandchild, Makayla Ramsey. He is survived by children, Benny L. Bennett, Sr.

There will be a preliminary Public Hearing

There will be a preliminary Public Hearing for the re-zoning of Lee Street from single family dwelling to multiple family dwelling, on April 18, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. in the Grambling City Hall Chamber Room. Tech takes fourth straight ‘Pack the House’ title
