Regular Session

THE LINCOLN Parish School Board met in Regular Session on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Parish School Board, 410 South Farmerville Street, Ruston, Louisiana. Members present were Ms. Debbie Abrahm, Mr. Otha Anders, Mr. Michael Barmore, Ms. Lisa Best, Mr. Danny Hancock, Ms. Mattie Harrison, Ms. Lynda Henderson, Mr. Trott Hunt, Mr. Eddie Jones, Mr. George Mack, Jr., and Mr. Joe Mitcham. Mr. Curtis Dowling was absent.

LEGAL NOTICE THE TOWN Council of Dubach, Louisiana met in Regular Session Monday, December 16, 2013 at 6:30 pm at the Town Hall.
Present were Honorable Robert Jensen Mayor, and Council members Robert Colvin, Hattie Graham, Donna Lewis, Davie Powell, and Victoria Axton with the Ruston Daily Leader.
Absent: Vallie Carrico
Public Comment: NONE
Citizens attended: NONE
The Meeting opened with Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation by Robert Colvin.
Motion by Donna Lewis Seconded by Davie Powell to approve Agenda as presented

Former ticket manager responsible for theft of $50K

An audit report came from the Louisiana Legislative Auditors Monday that said because of a lack of control over their finances in multiple areas — namely the athletic department — $50,891 was stolen from Louisiana Tech University’s athletic department by a former employee, Randal Snow.
At 12:10 p.m. Aug. 9, 2012 Randal Chance Snow, 25, from 147 Highway 3061, was arrested by Louisiana Tech University police for theft over $500.
According to the affidavit, a warrant was served to Snow for the charge of theft over $500 — specifically $2,760 — the property of Louisiana Tech University.

Russell: DC seeing profit

For the first time since 2008, the Lincoln Parish Detention Center is running with a month-to-month profit thanks to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office and Jim Tuten, the warden for the LPDC.
Skip Russell, president for the Lincoln Parish Police Jury, as well as on the Detention Center Board of Commissioners, said he has been getting calls from people who are concerned that their tax dollars are covering the $1.7 million deficit for the detection center.
“I want people to know that we are not using their tax dollars to pay for the detention center repairs,” Russell said.

Junior, senior Beta Club induction ceremony held
