Walking up to Willie Sumlin’s shed is like walking into a political porthole. Signs of Louisiana candidacies from long ago line the walls — Democratic, Republican, black, white — they can all be seen in their original forms and they all have a story to tell.
Sumlin has worn many hats in his lifetime — a banker, a radio talk show host, a riverboat captain.

The cold weather in November and winter usually kills exposed insects or drives insects into hiding. Many insects take refuge in mulch, leaf litter and human structures during the winter months and are only active on warmer days, but there are a few which will continue to thrive during these months.
