First downtown mural finished

in

The first of a series of three murals designed to draw attention to downtown Ruston and enhance visitor experiences is finished.
The 9-foot-tall by 40-foot-long work is painted on the back wall of the Rainwater Building facing Vienna Street and adjacent to the Federal Building parking lot.
The mural is visible to northbound traffic.
The mural is a collage of multi-colored geometric shapes, some bearing almost hidden logos and images that represent Ruston. The images were intentionally veiled so that people have to walk up to the mural to spot them.

in
tirado.jpg

Memorial Day is a time for remembering those who fought and those who died defending the democracy of our great nation.
If you run into any of our troops, please stop to thank them and say a prayer for them as they go on their way.
Flag etiquette: Our American flag flies at half-staff until noon on Memorial Day.
When you stand to sing or listen to our national anthem, remove your hat/cap and place your hand over your heart.
This is how we honor our flag and our country no matter what your party affiliation may be.
