Anne Taylor Bordelon passed from this life quickly, painlessly and peacefully on Monday, June 30th, 2014 in Virginia Beach, VA. Born Anne Craig Taylor on October 6, 1922, she was the youngest of five children born to Deane and Louise Taylor. She graduated from high school in Ruston and at age 17 attended Louisiana Polytechnic Institute (LA Tech) there, where she graduated with a BA in education in 1943. While in Ruston, Anne met the love of her life, Guy P. Bordelon, Jr. They were married after he graduated from Navy pilot training and he became a flight instructor, in Kingsville, Texas.

Annie Elise Carrier Smith went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 18, 2014, as the result of a tragic car accident. Visitation will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston, Louisiana from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014, in the main sanctuary at Trinity United Methodist. Officiating will be by Rev. Brian Mercer and Rev. Gary Willis with interment to follow at Pines Memorial Gardens in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Ruston.

Funeral services for Mrs. Francis McClellan Clark, age 96 of Simsboro, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Owens Memorial Chapel. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chris Witt. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

A celebration of the life of Bettye Maxwell Smith, age 75, will be held at First Baptist Church Ruston on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00-11:00 A.M. and service immediately following. Bettye was born January 22, 1939 in Ruston, Louisiana, to Beulah Pipes Maxwell and Spencer Colvin Maxwell and passed away July 16, 2014. She was a native of Choudrant, Louisiana, and a resident of Haughton, Louisiana for 42 years. She will be missed by family and friends.

Mrs. Josephine M. Harrist entered into eternal rest Friday, July 11, 2014 after a brief illness.
Funeral services are scheduled at for Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana. Visitation is scheduled from 1:30 PM till service time at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dale Oden. Graveside services will follow at Colvin Memorial Cemetery in Unionville, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.

Funeral services for Dorothy Ann Carpenter, age 79, of Many, LA will be held 10:00 AM Friday, July 11, 2014 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Officiating the service will be Dr. Darryl Ferrington. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mrs. Carpenter was born November 15, 1934 and passed away July 8, 2014, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Many, LA.

Walter Lee Clark, formerly of Grambling, Louisiana passed away suddenly on June 12, 2014. He was born in Niagara Falls, New York on March 8, 1950 to the union of Dorothy Cutter Clark and Donald Clark. Walter was a proud member of the United States Air Force, a Vietnam Veteran, a former Grambling State University Police Officer, a Grambling, Louisiana Police Officer and a volunteer fire fighter in Alton, Texas. He truly loved his jobs and had great compassion for his fellow man.

Funeral services for Robert Bruce Thomas, a retired deputy sheriff, will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Charles Garrett Community Center in Jonesboro at 2pm. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive East Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 4-8pm. Mr. Thomas was born on September 5, 1961 and passed away on June 30, 2014. He was 52.

Mary Joyce Coussan, age 72 of Cumming, GA, formerly of Ruston, LA, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming. Joyce graduated from Ruston High School and Louisiana Tech University and was a retired Special Education Teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. W. Coussan; parents, LeRoy and Lanell Frazier. Joyce will be remembered for her strong spirit, leadership and uncompromising love for her family and friends.
