Klare Eugenia Thomas

Klare Eugenia Thomas, age 96 of Ruston, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 following a brief illness. A naturalized citizen since 1952, Klare had called Ruston, LA home for 64 years. Klare was born in Mannheim, Germany on April 7, 1915. She attended secretarial school and went on to work in that capacity for fifteen years, through the onset of World War II.

Lescar “Tinker” Harlan, Jr., born on Sept. 23, 1949 to Lescar Will Harlan, Sr. and Mary Alice Causey Harlan, died suddenly at his residence in Arlington, Texas on Nov. 8, 2011.

George Hubbard

A memorial visitation for George Hubbard, 61, of  Ruston will be Wednesday evening from 5PM until 7PM at Owens Memorial Chapel of Ruston. Mr. Hubbard died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at his home in Ruston following a sudden illness.

He was born on December 6, 1950 in Orlando, Florida. After graduating Ruston High School in 1968, he moved to Choudrant where he married Rebecca Audrisch in 1969. Mr. Hubbard operated a small engine repair business.

Don M. Steward

Don M. Steward, age 83, of Lake Village, died Friday, November 4, 2011, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born January 14, 1928, in Armorel, Arkansas, the son of the late Marion Austin Steward and Iva Maude Stockton Steward and was an Army veteran during the Korean War, retired farmer and a member of the Lakeside United Methodist Church.

Marie Cascio Richard, age 84, died November 5th, 2011 in Ruston, Louisiana following a beautiful long life of love and service.

The younger of two children, Marie Cascio Richard, nee Marie Therese Genevieve Cascio, was born on January 3, 1927, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Salvatore and Olga Cascio.

Elizabeth Joan “Betty” Johnston Buster

Graveside services for Elizabeth Joan “Betty” Johnston Buster, 83, of Farmerville will be 1:30PM Monday, November 7th at Ashdown Cemetery in Ashdown, AR. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.

Mrs. Buster, a former bookkeeper and retired executive secretary, died Nov. 4, 2011. She was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church; was retired from Southwest Arkansas Water District in Texarkana, AR and a former bookkeeper with Texarkana Chamber of Commerce.

Terry Rogers

Graveside services for Terry Rogers, 68, will be held Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Alabama Cemetery near Arcadia, Louisiana. The Rev. Lamar Skinner will officiate. Terry was born May 14, 1943 in Ruston, La and passed away peacefully in Shreveport, LA on November 1, 2011. Terry grew up in Lincoln Parish where he learned to love the land that four generations of his family before him had farmed. Though he was away from it for many years, working first in Shreveport and then in Houston, he longed to be back in the area.

Gracie Beth Oglesby

Graveside services for Gracie Beth Oglesby, age 12, of Ruston will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Village Cemetery in Village, Arkansas. Officiating the service will be her grandfather, Rev. Charles Couch. Gracie was born October 13, 1999 and passed away November 2, 2011. She was preceded in death by her grandfather: Kenny (Pops) Oglesby; cousin: Tevin Jay (T.J.) Pate, and many other family members. Gracie is survived by her parents: Jay and Mandy Oglesby of Magnolia, AR.

Dora Maria Ybanez

Funeral services for Ms. Dora Maria Ybanez, age 41 of Pickton, Texas, formerly of  Ruston, will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Lincoln Parish Library Events Center in Ruston.  Ms. Ybanez died October 31, 2011 in Pickton, Texas after a lengthy illness. Dora  was born March 16, 1970 in Shreveport  to Albert Ybanez, Sr. and Mary Esther Kirkham.  In her professional career, she was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant helping mentally challenged patients she was also a teacher at Lincoln Parish Head Start in Ruston.  Later she worked for J.P.
