TO: Lincoln Parish Police Jury
FROM: Facility Security Study Committee
SUBJECT: Committee Report
The Facility Security Study Committee of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury met in the Police Jury Meeting Room, Third Floor, Lincoln Parish Courthouse, February 25, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. Present were: Theresa Wyatt, Chair; Roy Glover, Kip Franklin, John Holloway, Chad Alexander, Andy Shealy, Caroline Hunter, representing the Clerk’s Office and Judge Jay McCallum.
ABSENT: Linda Cook
Chair Theresa Wyatt called the meeting to order and Kip Franklin delivered the invocation.
Roy Glover made a motion, seconded by Kip Franklin, to approve the Agenda. The motion carried with the following votes:
YEAS: Wyatt, Glover, Franklin, Holloway, Alexander, Shealy, Hunter, and McCallum
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Cook
Mrs. Wyatt opened the floor for discussion. Legal Counsel advised Committee members that due to the sensitive nature of items to be discussed, mainly security, the Committee could go into executive session if necessary. Following discussion, it was determined that some security issues could be addressed immediately and relatively inexpensively while others would be longer term and more costly. Kip Franklin, Homeland Security Director, advised that grant monies may be available to use for security upgrades. The consensus of the Committee was to address those items which could be easily and inexpensively corrected and to get cost estimates and explore funding for the more expensive security issues. There being no other business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned.
