Department shows signs of training

“One of the reasons we wanted these signs is so that the community would know we’re having a drill,” RPD’s public information officer, Lt. Curtis Hawkins, said. “We don’t want them to be alarmed or concerned that there is an actual event in progress.”

Hawkins said the police department approached public works with the request and Randy Snow, who is in charge of all city signs, designed and manufactured the signs.

“Both Lewis Love (director of public works) and Randy have been very accommodating and very helpful as to any request that the police department has made,” Hawkins said.
