An attempt to restore funding to a couple of agencies that recently had their budgets slashed failed last week during a meeting of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury Finance Committee.
Earlier this month, jurors proposed making some steep cuts to several groups for 2012, but on Thursday evening committee member Roy Glover proposed restoring the annual allocations the jury distributes to three groups at the 2011 level.
Among the three groups were the LSU Extension Service (facing a $4,600 cut from 2011), Lincoln Total Community Action (a $500 cut) and the Department of Veterans Affairs ($1,408 cut).
