New Tech @ Ruston will present a World War II exhibit entitled “WWII: Preserving Peace” from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lincoln Parish Library.
Junior students in Tara Griffin’s and Steven Ehrhard’s American studies class have been working all month to prepare for the exhibit and Griffin said the students drew inspiration early on by visiting the National Word War II Museum in New Orleans on March 5.
“Students pulled ideas and information for their own displays and were also able to talk to WWII veterans,” Griffin said.
Residents of Lincoln Parish, it’s time to have some fun and bonding time with man’s best friend.
Ruston Parks and Recreation will host their eighth annual Furry Fun Walk at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Huckleberry Trails Park and Nature Area.
The community is strongly encouraged to come out with their dogs. It is a noncompetitive event and includes a mile walk. Also, this is a time for the community to socialize with other pet owners. Each year there are roughly 200 participants.
