The second annual 12 Days of Christmas Shopping passport game sponsored by Origin Bank has finished. After a recent drawing, Chamber President Judy Copeland, left, named Hannah Batusic, right, as the winner the $1,000 grand prize.
“We hope that (residents) enjoyed it as much as we did,” Copeland said. “Thank you for supporting our local merchants.”
At approximately 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, a truck traveling east on Interstate 20 near the Lincoln and Bienville parish line caught on fire. Jim Hilton, spokesman for the Lincoln Parish Fire Department, said the truck was completely destroyed, but no injuries were reported. The fire reportedly began in the engine of the one-ton Ford pick-up truck, but officials are uncertain what caused it. Hilton said the truck was pulling a Gooseneck trailer carrying some welding supplies including oxygen.
Ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held Sept. 8 for the new Walgreen’s Store and Pharmacy located on the corner of North Trenton Street and West Reynolds Drive. The event was sponsored by the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.
