In spite of the continued woes of the economy, small business owners are showing increased optimism about the next 12 months, according to a recent Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index survey. However, despite their generally sunny outlook, many of them are still concerned they won’t have enough money to retire, or may have to retire later in life.
When I was a kid, the women on TV that I looked up to were not the ones running (and bouncing) up and down the beach on Baywatch. They weren’t the girls with the latest fashion and never-ending boyfriend drama on Beverly Hills 90210.
They wore suits, they spoke with clarity, their hair was meticulously coiffed and they wanted to get to the bottom of things — I looked up to reporters.
I didn’t understand why my parents didn’t like for me to spend the night with her, and I didn’t think twice when my mom had to take care of her mom after fights. They were just fights. Everyone’s parents fight.

Gov. Bobby Jindal is exactly right. The Republican Party has to change its ways if it’s going to appeal to minorities, women and young voters in numbers significant enough to recapture national leadership.
