Sparta saving efforts trickle to youth

Facts gathered by the USGS indicate the Sparta Aquifer can only sustain 52 (mgd) million gallons per day. We currently use 70 mgd, or 18 million gallons too much to sustain the Sparta.

Chancellor Coreil believes a few minor changes in people’s lives could greatly reduce this amount. Hence, the AgCenter is distributing posters with Sparta-saving tips, water fact sheets and teachers’ lesson plans outlining Sparta conservation at schools throughout the state.
