Contestants compete in livestock show for fun, prizes
The grueling heat could not keep more than 100 participants from coming out to the North Louisiana Expo Center on Saturday for a livestock show.
Gary Stockton, county agent for the LSU AgCenter Lincoln Extension office, said there was a wide variety of animals on display.
“We had cows — both beef and dairy — lamb, goats, hogs and rabbits,” he said. “But the beef cattle category had the largest number of participants by far.”
