Dyes doubles fun with record catches

This exciting feat must have been “deja vu” for Dyes because about the same time of year in 1970, Dyes landed a bass weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces. That bass, landed 36 years ago, was the largest recorded bass caught from Black Lake up to that time. Dyes was fishing with a Zebco 33 and his lure of choice was a Devil’s Horse.

Fast forward thirty-six years. Dyes, who has worked in the oil fields in Saudi Arabia for the past 11 years, works 35 days and is off 35 days. When he is home, Dyes says he fishes as many days as he possibly can.
