McMahone, Jenkins marry

Meagan Dianna McMahone, of Ruston, and Dustin Michael Jenkins, of Franklinton, were married in a 6 p.m. ceremony Saturday at First Baptist Church of Ruston.

The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Dr. Landon Dowden.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don McMahone, Jr., of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Samuel Morgan, of Ruston, and Harvene Watterson McMahone, of Minden, and the late Don McMahone, Sr.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Jenkins, of Franklinton. He is the grandson of Gwen Creel Jones, of Franklinton, the late Richard Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Enos Albert Jenkins, of Bush.

The bride given in marriage by her father wore an ivory fit and flare gown with a scalloped trimmed strapless neckline, by Casablanca. The empire waist was accented with a pleated organza band. The beaded lace appliqués were sewn onto point d’esprit over a satin lining with beaded buttons along the back of the chapel length skirt. Meagan wore an ivory fingertip length veil made of two layers of raw edged tulle.

She carried a bouquet of ivory and soft pink cabbage roses, ivory tea roses, porcelina spray roses, and pink and white hydrangeas. The bridal bouquet was tied with satin ivory ribbon.
Molly McMahone Stone, sister of the bride, of Montgomery, Ala., served as matron of honor for the ceremony, while Natalie Arant, of New Orleans, Ashley Binns, of Waco, Texas,

Rebecca Campbell, of Baton Rouge, Katelyn Henderson, of Baton Rouge, Taylor Leachman, of Starkville, Miss., Meredith Patton, of Baton Rouge, Meg Quinn, of Baton Rouge, Hannah Whitman, of Nashville, Tenn., and Abigail Willson, of Savannah, Ga., served as bridesmaids.

They each wore a floor length platinum chiffon gown with an empire waist and a pleated sweetheart neckline, while carrying bouquets of ivory and pink cabbage roses, porcelina spray roses and pink hydrangeas wrapped in ivory satin ribbon.

Serving Dustin as best men were brothers of the groom, Brandon Jenkins, of Walker, and Nicolas Jenkins, of Walker. Groomsmen for the ceremony were Jimmy Alford, of Baton Rouge, Dustin Fowler, of Franklinton, Chris Mott, of Baton Rouge, David Nasab, of Baton Rouge, Jason Sheridan, of Loma Linda, Calif., Brandon Stone, of Montgomery, Ala., and Jim Stringfield, of Franklinton.

Serving as flower girl for the ceremony was niece of the bride, Audrey Melinda Stone, of Montgomery, Ala. She wore a white swiss batiste dress in the French hand-sewn style, featuring rows of ecru lace insertion and pintucks along the hem. The dress was completed with wide ecru ribbons tied on the shoulders over angel sleeves.

She carried a pale pink button daisy mum kissing ball tied with an ivory satin ribbon and wore a halo made of babies breath with small pink roses and ivory streamers in the back.

Meagan’s house party consisted of Hannah Haese, of Plano, Texas, Katie Lorenc, of Dallas, Texas, Gina Micheletti, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Lindsay Mitchell, of College Station, Texas.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Chris Hanchey, pianist and worship leader, Jada Swanson, soloist, and Joe Brown, soloist.

A reception was held at the Library Events Center and was catered by Judy Davis of Tall Timbers. The cakes were created by Nancy Whittenburg, and flowers were designed by Lauren Roebuck.

The night before the wedding ceremony a Mexican Fiesta rehearsal dinner was held at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. It was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Perry Jenkins.

Prior to the wedding several showers were held in the couple’s honor. On June 24, a Tea

Shower was held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Jimmy Leonard. It was hosted by Jane Corley, Pam Flowers, Mary Celia Hanchey, Debbie Hauser, Cheryl Leachman, Susie Leonard, Donna Lewis, Lesa McGaha, Gay McGee, Susan Odom, Andrea Philips and Karen Seacrist.

A Kinfolks Shower was held on July 9 at the home of Judy and Paul Woodard. Roxanne Fallin, Mary Ellen Gamble, Carole Harris, Brenda McIntyre, Barbara Monzingo, Emily Moore, Jeanne Simmering and Judy Woodard hosted the shower.

On July 16, a Couple’s Around the House shower was held in Baton Rouge. It was hosted by Natalie Arant, Rebecca Campbell, Katelyn Henderson, Meredith Patton and Meg Quinn.

Also on July 16 a miscellaneous shower was held at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Bush. The ladies of Jerusalem Baptist Church hosted the shower.

A lingerie shower was held on Aug. 5 at the home of Dr. Bruce and K.K. Willson. Ashley Binns, Taylor Leachman, Molly Stone, Hannah Whitman and Abigail Willson served as hostesses.

On Aug. 6, a bridesmaid’s luncheon was held at the Dove House Tea Room in Arcadia. The luncheon was hosted by Cheryl Leachman, Sandy Whitman, Janet Wilson and K.K. Willson.

The couple honeymooned on a western Caribbean cruise. Upon returning from their honeymoon, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.
