I think anyone who has children, ever baby-sat or just stood near little children in a store for a moment can relate to these statements. With big puppy eyes filled with pain and longing, kids’ facial expressions reveal feelings of shock or anger as we try to explain about money and budgets to their reason-resistant little ears.

When I was a short, whining child, fast food was my heart’s desire. Every time the family piled into the station wagon on vacation or to ride through town, I just knew there were greasy hamburgers and fries within my reach.
