MONTHLY TOWN HALL MEETING MINUTES MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2011 6:00 P.M.
The Village of Simsboro met in regular session Monday, August 8, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. Council members present were Alderman Pam Durrett, Alderman Doug Durrett. Alderman Tiffany Cole was absent. Mayor Hendricks called the meeting to order. Jeri Hendricks voiced a prayer and Mayor Hendricks led in the pledge of allegiance. Mayor Hendricks presented the Agenda to the Aldermen and asked if there were any corrections. There were none. Alderman Pam Durrett made a motion to accept the Agenda as presented; it was seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett. The motion passed. The minutes from the July 11th meeting were read by Peggy Stewart, Clerk. Mayor Hendricks asked for questions or comments. There were none. Motion was made to accept minutes as read by Alderman Pam Durrett; it was seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett. Motion passed. Mayor Hendricks asked for questions or comments with reference to the approval of the municipal bills as presented. Questions were answered. A motion was made by Alderman Pam Durrett; it was seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett to approve the municipal bills. Motion passed. Discussion of Resolution 19-11 ADOPT MILLAGE OF 5.080 FOR 2011 TAX ROLL- Mayor Hendricks stated that the millage rate has been the same since 1999
RECCOMMED FOR ADOPTION RESOLUTION 19-11 TO ADOPT MILLAGE RATE OF 5.080 FOR THE 2011 TAX ROLL- Mayor asked for comments, there were none. Alderman Doug Durrett made the motion to adopt Resolution 19-11, it was seconded by Alderman Pam Durrett. Mayor Hendricks asked for a roll call. Alderman Doug Durrett, yea; Alderman Pam Durrett, yea. Let the records show that Tiffany Cole was absent.
Financial Report: Doug Brewer, CPA was not present. There was no financial report.
Water/Sewer Report-Water system is running good, everything is as it should be. A question was asked about water supply. Shelby stated that it is good.
Planning & Zoning Report- There was not a Planning & Zoning Meeting in July. There will be a meeting on August 15, 2011.There has been a permit request submitted.
Citizen Complaint: None were turned in.
Public Comment: Mayor Hendricks stated a report from Paul Rainwater of the Governor's office was received regarding Capital Outlay Requests. The Village has continuing approval for $100,000.00 for the New Water Well. Mayor Hendricks stated the Village also has continuing approval for $130,000.00 to extend the sewer line. When a builder wants to put in a subdivision the Village will be prepared to do the work required to make this happen. There is an appropriation that is due by September 15 for $25,000.00 which can be used for a general project.
Mayor Hendricks asked for a motion to close the meeting. A motion was made by Alderman Pam Durrett, seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett to close Town Hall Meeting. Vote was unanimous, motion carried.
