During a traffic stop of an unlicensed occupied vehicle on Friday, a Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s deputy requested to have another deputy attempt to find a licensed driver at a residence located nearby, to refrain from towing the vehicle.
When parents divorce, they are not the only ones who feel the effects.
Their children are impacted as well.
“The statistics on the number of children of divorced parents that end up turning to drugs, sex, alcohol or a generally ‘high-risk’ activity are staggering,” said Donna Bernard. “We visit with the kids and give them tools to express their emotions about what they’re going through. We hope they will go ahead and work through it, and if they are unhappy with their parents for doing this, they can find a way to forgive their parents.”
Two men were arrested on Thursday in connection with the burglary of a parish resident’s shop.
Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Division Maj. Chad Alexander said Jacob Cody Horn, 19, of Quitman, and Jordan Nathaniel Dickens, 21, of 124 June Road, were arrested Thursday following an investigation into copper wire that was stolen from a local man’s shop near his home in February.
Just as much a part of the Ruston Christmas tradition as the parade and downtown decorations, the Russ-Town Band plans to entertain the community this year with well-known holiday songs to get the crowd into the Christmas spirit. Friday, the all-volunteer group featuring more than 50 local musicians, will host a free annual Christmas concert to benefit Toys for Tots and Christian Community Action.
Lawrence Gibbs, conductor of the Russ-Town Band, said the songs that will be performed are classics that everyone can recognize.
