Residents weigh in on alcohol ordinance

As the Ruston City Council prepares for a vote regarding Sunday alcohol sales in restaurants in the city limits, Ruston residents have also been weighing in on the idea.
The amendments to Ruston’s alcohol ordinance were introduced at the November council meeting, and if the aldermen pass the ordinance Monday, the Sunday sale of alcohol with meals would be legal from the hours of noon to midnight.

The amendments would also allow for the restaurants to remain open until 2 a.m. on New Year’s, but not the rest of the year.
