Gray, Harris wed in December ceremony
Beverly Ann Gray and Chad Remon Harris, of Ruston, were joined in marriage Dec. 17 at the National Guard Armory Building in Ruston.
The Rev. Stephen Murphy, pastor of Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Gibsland and cousin of the bride, officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Betty Jenkins, of Ruston, and the late Ben Frank Gray Sr.
She is the granddaughter of Essie Mae Cole, of Lisbon, and the late Arthur Cole; the late Arvell Gray Sr. and the late Elsie Mae Gray.
The groom is the son of the late Cynthia Harris. He is the grandson of the late Clarice Glasper.
The bride was given in marriage by her son, Cornelius Gray and brother, Ben Frank Gray Jr., both of Ruston.
The bride wore an ivory satin strapless gown embellished with sequins and seed pearls. Her veil was secured with a pearl and rhinestone tiara. She also wore a matching pearl earring, necklace and bracelet set.
Yolanda Tidwell, of Bernice, served as matron of honor. Chandrikia Gray, of Shreveport, daughter of the bride, served as maid of honor. Tera H. Andrews, of Dallas, Texas, sister of the groom; Felicia Cole, of Dallas, Texas; Courtney Curry, of Ruston; Suzanne Douglas of Ruston; Jackie Gray, of Fredericksburg, Va.; Danyelle Green, of Desoto, Texas, Aiesha Harris, of Dallas, Texas; sister of the groom; Sophronia Pringle, of Ruston, sister of the groom; Alicia Scales, of Dubach; and Tammy Washington, of Lisbon, served as bridesmaids.
Keyana Gray, of Fredericksburg, Va.; Destiny Harris, of Dallas, Texas; and Alexis Sims, of Ruston, served as junior bridesmaids.
Jeramie Roane, of Ruston, brother of the groom, served as best man.
Solomon Green, of Desoto, Texas; Marquis Gray of Fredericksburg, Va.; Chris Dade, of Mesquite, Texas; Germanus Roane, brother of the groom; Damon Crawford, Edward Jackson, Bran Maryland, and Roland Mayfield, all of Ruston, served as groomsmen.
Linda Mayfield served as special aunt of the groom.
Ushers were Nickolas Bedford, of Grambling; Dontay Johnson and Chandra Parker, both of Ruston.
Candlelighters were Darikieus Cole, of Dallas, Texas, and Nikenya Cole, of Dubach. Flower girls were Earneshia Mayfield and Faith Mayfield, of Ruston. Shaniya Armstrong, of Ruston, daughter of the bride, served as miniature bride. Andre Pruitt, of Ruston, served as miniature groom. Jireh Mayfield, of Ruston, served as ring bearer.
A memorial candle was lit in memory of the bride’s father, the groom’s mother and all other immediate family members.
Nuptial music was provided by Chase Thompson, of Grambling.
Soloists were Jatia Huey, of Ruston; and Pauline Taylor Hunt, of Dallas, Texas.
Wedding coordinators and decorators were of Exclusive Occasions, of Grambling.
Wedding party flowers were done by Pam Green, of Desoto, Texas, and Jesse Thompson, of Ruston. Jeffrey Clemons served as photographer, and Willie Goins served as videographer, both of Ruston.
A reception was held at the National Guard Armory Building.
Hostesses were Hailey Beard, Asia Rachal, Teresa Chandler, Chandra Parker, Wanda Meadows, Michecoln Chandler, Pamela Green, Bernice Outley, Debra Tyler and Linda Washington.
The bride’s cake was done by Annette Murphy. Food service was provided by family and friends.
