School board discusses case
The Lincoln Parish School Board held a strategic planning session concerning the ongoing desegregation litigation on Wednesday evening.
Board members called the meeting to order and then went into executive session after their attorney on the case Bob Hammonds, of Hammonds and Sills, suggested that they do so.
This is the latest in a series of such meetings, which have been called to address the concerns brought up in a status report filed in May of 2011 regarding the desegregation case originally filed in the 1970s. That status report revealed that three out of four of the Ruston district elementary schools had racially identifiable populations.
