Philips, Ketchum unite in martrimony
Molly Rebecca Phillips and Justin Michael Ketchum, both of Shreveport, were united in marriage on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the bride’s parents’ home in Haughton.
The minister officiating the early evening wedding vows was James Shields. A reception with dinner followed the ceremony at the Phillips’s residence.
The bride is the daughter of Bob and Carol Phillips of Haughton. Her grandparents are Mrs. Alice Herrmann of Ruston, the late Dr. Leo Herrmann, and the late Mr. Ruben Carlos and Dr. Jenny Phillips.
Justin’s parents are James and Debbie Wood of Sarepta, and the late Michael Wayne Ketchum. His grandparents are Willard and Bobbie Langley of Sarepta, Bobby and Mickey Ketchum of Magnolia, Ark., the late Betty Ketchum, and the late Robert and Flet Wood.
Given in marriage by her parents, and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory linen, empire dress embellished with Genoese lace at the neckline, cuffs and hemline. Molly’s satin headpiece was adorned with flowers.
The bride carried a hand-tied long-stemmed bouquet of hydrangeas, spider mums, stargazer lilies and bells of Ireland.
Corrie Allison Phillips, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.
During the ceremony she wore a lavender, sleeveless, V-neck jersey dress. Corrie carried a hand-tied bouquet of long stemmed hydrangeas and roses.
The best man was Josh Fields, the groom’s cousin.
Molly graduated from Haughton High School, attended Louisiana Tech University, and graduated from Toni and Guy’s Academy of Dallas. She is currently a hair stylist at Bella Donna, in Shreveport.
Justin graduated from Sarepta High School, and attended LSU-Shreveport. He served in the Marine Reserves for six years, with one tour in Iraq.
The groom is employed by Oil States Well Site Services in Shreveport.
The couple will reside in Shreveport, and honeymoon at a surprise destination at a later date.
