’Dogs drop 9-2 finale against Nebraska
Louisiana Tech University struggled to score runs against the Cornhuskers as Zach Hirsch held the Louisiana Tech offense to five hits as Nebraska (12-6) powered its way past the Bulldogs, 9-2, at Hawks Field Thursday afternoon.
Tech (9-8) left nine men on base while the Cornhuskers recorded 11 hits, including two home runs, to take game one of the four-game series.
Freshman Phil Maton (3-1) was credited with his first loss of the season after allowing seven hits and four runs in 4.2 innings, his shortest start of the season. Hirsch (2-1) picked up his second win of the season after pitching 5.1 innings, allowing two runs while striking out three.
