Foundation laid for Habitat house
The fifth year architecture majors are building a Habitat for Humanity House, which will be located on South Bonner Street, but they say that while they have received donations from area businesses, more is needed to complete the project.
“We need to raise $22,000 more for the project,” said fifth-year senior Jenny LaBatt. “We’ve found that people closer to home will give more.”
LaBatt said the major contributors to the project have been Ruston’s Builders’ Supply and Pearce Lumber, as well as Vantage Health Plan of Monroe, which has contributed the largest amount of donations.
