Choudrant passes aid agreement
CHOUDRANT — The Village of Choudrant agreed to continue a more than decade long mutual aid agreement between their fire department and the Ruston Fire Department Monday night at their monthly town council meeting.
Mayor Bill Sanderson said the agreement between the two departments will allow for, upon request by either CFD or RFD, free assistance between the two agencies when either one is dealing with a fire.
“Say Choudrant has one house on fire. We can put that out with what we have here,” Sanderson said. “But if we have two houses on fire at once, or say the school here caught on fire, we are going to need some help. The agreement just allows us to ask for assistance from the RFD, and vice versa, in case either is in need.”
