Bayou Bombers No. 4 at AAU nationals


Several Ruston and area baseball players recently placed fourth for the Bayou Bombers in a national baseball tournament recently held in Fort Myers, Fla. Led by Coaches Shane Mabou and Randy McKInnie, the team competed for the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) national championship. The U-19 team won its pool, defeating teams from Alabama, Virginia, and Georgia, ultimately making it to the semi-final round. Despite outhitting the Tallahassee Baseball Club, the Bombers dropped their final game 4-3. Numerous local businesses contributed to help the team make the trip to Florida.
