As the sun peaked out from the clouds Saturday, people strolled in downtown Ruston, ducking into boutiques and searching for unique treasures from local artists. North Central Louisiana Arts Council’s 13th annual Holiday Arts Tour began Friday night, stretched into Saturday and will commence today. From 10 a.m.-5 p.m. today at the Lincoln Parish Library Events Center, musicians will perform and tour artists will show their works.
One of the artists showing during the tour was Joli Livaudais, a photographer with a studio and gallery in Monroe who opens her gallery doors during Monroe’s monthly Art Crawl.
Cypress Springs’ third graders have been busy. Students are reading the book “Because of Winn Dixie.” All students agree this is the best book they have read this year. They cannot wait to see how the book ends. As a special treat, all third graders will be traveling to Celebrity Theatres to watch the book come to life on the big screen. They will compare how the book and the movie were similar and how they were different.
