ORDINANCE NO. 1628 OF 2012 ORDINANCE LEVYING AND IMPOSING TAXES ON ALL PROPERTY SUBJECT TO TAXATION IN THE CITY OF RUSTON, LOUISIANA
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RUSTON, LOUISIANA:
§1. There be and there is hereby levied, assessed and imposed on all the taxable property in the City of Ruston, Louisiana (the "City"), for the year 2012, the following adjusted millage rates at the rates per dollar of the assessed valuation and for the respective purposes hereinafter set forth:
A. General Alimony: For Ordinary
Expenses and Public Improvements 5.88 MILLS
B. For Maintenance and Operations of Recreation Buildings and Equipment pursuant to an election held on July 16, 2005, for ten (10) years: 2.92 MILLS
§2. The proper administrative officers of the City be and they are hereby empowered, authorized, and directed to spread the aforesaid taxes upon the active assessment rolls for the City for the year 2012 and to make the collection of the taxes imposed for on citizens of the City according to law, and that the millage rates levied shall become permanent liens and privileges on all of property subject to taxation as herein set forth, and the collection of such shall be enforceable in the manner provided by law.
§3. This Ordinance shall become effective upon final adoption and publication of same in the manner prescribed by law.
This Ordinance having been introduced on August 6, 2012, by Alderman Jedd Lewis, Notice of Public Hearing having been published on August 10, 2012, and August 17, 2012, and said public hearing having been held, the title having been read and the Ordinance considered, on motion to adopt by Alderman Jim Pearce, seconded by Alderman Elmore Mayfield, a record vote was taken and the following result was had:

WHEREUPON, the presiding officer declared the above Ordinance duly adopted on the 10th day of September, 2012.
