NLW permit on city agenda
New Living Word Church may finally be able to start building their additional two-story school building after Monday night’s meeting of the Ruston City Council.
During the 5:30 p.m. regular meeting, aldermen will consider action on a new conditional use permit allowing New Living Word to use the land to build an additional school building.
The building would house students for the church’s preschool through 12th grade school. The school enrolled 97 new students this year as part of the Louisiana Scholarship Program. The proposed building would house up to 400 students, which would allow for the school to grow.
Planning and zoning commissioners gave preliminary approval, but required that the plans include a minimum of four additional trees and some fencing along the back of the property to prevent children from wandering onto other people’s land.
